Central Oregon Weekend Planner – Feb 21-23, 2020.
Here is our Central Oregon weekend planner, created each week to showcase events throughout Central Oregon!
Friday, Feb. 21
Bonfire, Bikes, & Brews @ Good Bike, Prineville
- FRI – “Join us at 4 pm every other Friday at Good Bike Co. for a group “FAT” bike ride. We have fat bikes that you can reserve for FREE for this event (call ahead to reserve). We will leave the shop at 4 pm and return by 6 pm at the Bonfire, Bikes, and Brews bonfire event in our parking lot.”
Deep Sky Wonders @ Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory
- FRI – “Come learn about faraway nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, and more. It’s amazing out there! Pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope have opened a new view of the universe. Night sky viewing at the observatory will follow the program and is included in registration, weather permitting.”
Sisters Folk Festival – Winter Concert Series @ Sisters High School Auditorium
- FRI – “On Friday, February 21, Dustbowl Revival will perform their horn-driven, up-tempo Americana music that spans genres and topics with ease and intention. Dustbowl Revival has always been about pushing the boundaries of what American roots music can be. In many ways, they could have continued creating joyful, booty-shaking songs and cut-to-heart folk-rock ballads that lift up their transcendent live shows, while mining new energetic material from the place where folk music, funk, and soul meet.”
What Would You Do Without Winter? @ Patagonia, Bend
- FRI – “Join Deschutes Land Trust for a look at climate change with Patagonia@Bend on Friday, February 21st. Lauren MacCallum from Scotland and Josh Jespersen from Colorado are fighting climate change in their own backyards, and Patagonia will screen two films to share their stories with you, in the hope you’ll be inspired to take action too. After the film screenings, Patagonia ambassador Josh Dirksen, along with Deschutes Land Trust and Protect Our Winters, will facilitate an interactive discussion on how to connect with local climate groups. Doors open at 6:30 pm with the event starting at 7 pm.”
The Spider’s Web @ Cascades Theatrical Company
- FRI-March 1 – “Clarissa, wife of a diplomat, is adept at spinning tales of adventure but when a murder takes place in her drawing-room she finds live drama much harder to cope with. Desperate to dispose of the body before her husband arrives with an important politician, she enlists the help of her guests. Hilarity ensues when they are interrupted by the arrival of wry detective, Inspector Lord. A conscious parody of the detective thriller, Christie delivers a unique blend of suspense and humor. There is tension and laughter in equal parts in an intricate plot of murder, police, invisible ink, hidden doorways, and secret drawers.”
Saturday, Feb. 22
Art In Nature – Camarata In A Cave @ Pronghorn
- SAT – “Join Wanderlust Tours and Bend Camerata at Pronghorn Resort for an incredible experience! We’ll settle inside this magical acoustic wonder for a vocal concert that will bounce off the cave ceiling with crispness that delights the soul!”
Bend A Cappella Festival – Sing-Off @ The Tower Theatre
- SAT – “It’s our 5th anniversary and Bend A Cappella Festival will be welcoming 10-15 a cappella groups for friendly competition featuring Deke Sharon-modern day Father of A Cappella as Emcee. Get ready to be entertained by phenomenal and fresh talent. If you are a fan of Pitch Perfect movies or “The Sing-Off” this is must-see event.”
Bobby Lindstrom @ Faith, Hope, & Charity Vineyards
- SAT – “Live at the Vineyard Bobby Lindstrom; tickets are $10 for adults, children 12 and under are free.”
Wild River Night @ Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe
- SAT – “Come celebrate wild rivers! A variety of paddlers will share their adventures in rafts, kayaks, SUPs, and even biking. Rivers in CO, OR, NH, and even as far away as the Karnali River in Nepal. This event was so popular last year that we decided to make it an annual event. Come one, come all!”
Zwicklemania @ Central Oregon Breweries
- SAT – “Beer lovers rejoice! Zwickelmania returns for its 12th year on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Portland, and statewide on Saturday, Feb. 22. Zwickelmania is a statewide celebration of the Oregon craft beer scene. More than 100 breweries across the state open their doors for tours, tastings, meet-the-brewer sessions, and, of course, free samples. This free event runs from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. both Saturdays. This year, Zwickelmania will run concurrently with Oregon Craft Beer Month. This month-long celebration will include tap takeovers, beer festivals, panel discussions and more.”
Sunday, Feb. 23
Ani DiFranco @ The Tower Theatre
- SUN – “Widely considered a feminist icon, Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, being one of the first artists to create her own record label in 1990. While she has been known as the “Little Folksinger,” her music has embraced punk, funk, hip hop, jazz, soul, electronica and even more distant sounds. Her collaborators have included everyone from Utah Phillips to legendary R&B saxophonist Maceo Parker to Prince. She has shared stages with Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, Kris Kristofferson, Greg Brown, Billy Bragg, Michael Franti, Chuck D., and many more. Her most recent album Binary was released in June 2017 on Righteous Babe Records and her memoir No Walls And The Recurring Dream was released on May 7, 2019 by Viking Books.”

No matter your preference, join Brasada Trails every Saturday from 1pm – 3pm this winter for trail rides to Spirit Rock where you’ll roast s’mores over the open fire pit and sip hot cocoa while enjoying the breathtaking views as far as the eye can see.”
