Here is our Central Oregon weekend planner, created each week to showcase events throughout Central Oregon!

 

Friday, Mar. 13

2020 Cascade Crest Nordic Ski Marathon & Relay @ Mt. Bachelor

  • FRI – “The Cascade Crest promises something for everybody; a 50km Skate race, a 25km Skate race, a 10km Skate race for beginning racers, and a 4 x 12.5km Team Skate Relay. The course will utilize the US Forest Service lands in the shadow of Broken Top Mountain on and around Dutchman Flat and Todd Lake before reentering the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center Trail Network at Rich’s Range.”

High West Bourbon & Whisky Tasting @ The Coyote at the Huntington Lodge, Pronghorn Resort

  • FRI – “High West Distillery’s focus is producing great tasting spirits with quality ingredients and taking pride in their uniquely aged whiskey blends. Enjoy an exceptional tasting from High West Distillery with complimenting appetizers and good company!”

L’Elisir D’Amour @ COCC Pinckney Center (Fri-Sat) & Madras Performing Arts Center (Sun)

  • FRI-SUN – “The Elixir of Love is a comedy featuring a phony love potion that’s nothing but a bottle of cheap, red wine. Still, along with all the laughs, Donizetti’s comedy does serve up a couple of solid insights. It demonstrates that, when it comes to love, the genuine article beats any potion-induced passion. And it suggests that, when searching for a magic formula to cause a person to be loved, human shortcomings can make placebos safer and more effective than any mysterious elixir. The production will be sung in Italian with English supertitles and performed with full orchestra conducted by Michael Gesme.”

Oregon Middle School Basketball Championship @ various Central Oregon locations

  • FRI-SUN – “The top teams in the state will meet in beautiful Bend/Redmond/Sisters/Prineville to battle it out for the 8th annual Oregon Middle School Basketball Championship. After a long regular season playing against other teams in your area, the State Basketball Championship offers teams the shot to compete against fresh faces from all corners of our state. This is not your ordinary league tournament, but rather the chance of a lifetime for all kids.”

 

Saturday, Mar. 14

2020 Sunriver Golf Central Oregon Golf Show @ Riverhouse Convention Center

  • SAT – “With 30 golf courses, playable almost year-round, Central Oregon is a golfer’s paradise – and a bucket list destination for the serious and casual golfer. The 2020 Sunriver Golf Central Oregon Golf Show will showcase award-winning regional golf courses and Central Oregon’s burgeoning golf industry, along with courses just a short drive over the Cascades.”

Central Oregon Trail Party @ Smith Rock State Park

  • SAT – “Join Trailkeepers of Oregon as we help maintain trails in one of Oregon’s most spectacular parks. We will be restoring native plants and doing maintenance on the popular River Trail. Plan to hike less than a mile to the work area and work using hand digging tools, loppers, and hand saws. We prioritize safety and fun over quantity of work accomplished and encourage people to try different things and work at a comfortable pace. No experience is necessary — you’ll be working with experienced crew leaders who will teach you all you need to know.”

Guest Chef Dinner Series @ The Suttle Lodge

  • SAT – “Bad Saint is the brainchild of powerhouses Genevieve Villamora, Nick Pimentel and James Beard Award-winning chef Tom Cunanan. Bad Saint is considered the most popular Filipino restaurant in American, bringing Filipino cooking into the national spotlight. The team’s creative approach to regional Filipino cuisine has earned them a place on the Bon Appétit Best New Restaurants list almost immediately upon opening. We’re beyond stoked to have them here to cook with us.”

  • SAT – “A day to try out new gear on the mountain (demos are free, lift ticket required to ski and ride on the mountain). We’ll have several retailers on-site to answer questions, give advice and help guests make decisions on the type of gear they want to test out on the slopes.”

Second Saturday Artists Reception @ Artists’ Gallery Sunriver

  • SAT – “Artists’ Gallery Sunriver Village, invites you to join us on Saturday, March 14 from 4 to 6 PM. Our monthly 2nd Saturday is an opportunity to meet the gallery’s 30 local Central Oregon artists and enjoy food, wine, beer, and fun!”

St. Patrick’s Day Dash @ Deschutes Brewery

St. Patrick’s Day Party @ Paulina Lake Lodge

Winter Wonderland Photo Workshop @ Elk Lake Lodge

  • SAT – “Winter is one of my favorite times to photograph and with our snowy mountains, the shots are stunning. We’ve teamed up with Elk Lake Lodge to include a Subaru snowcat out to the lodge, making photo stops and snowshoe treks along the way. Once at Elk Lake Lodge we will snowshoe out and around this optimal Winter Wonderland. We also will have some time to enjoy the lodge with a complimentary drink before heading out for the best winter sunset spot.”

Paulina Lake Lodge & Cabins

  • FRI-SUN (Winter) – “Experience the magic of Paulina Lake in winter! The lodge restaurant and cabins open for winter on Dec. 20th – YAY! Snowmobile, snowshoe or take the snowcat up to the lodge for their prime rib dinner! Be sure to make a reservation!”

Snowshoe With A Ranger @ Mt. Bachelor

  • Weekends through March 29th – “Join a naturalist on a snowshoe tour at Mt. Bachelor! Learn about alpine environments and the natural features of the Cascade Range. Wear snow boots and warm winter clothing. Snowshoes will be provided. No previous experience is required. Snowshoe tours are FREE, however, donations to support tours and other Discover Your Forest programs are greatly appreciated. Tour size is limited, so first come first served. The minimum age is 8 years old. Advanced reservations required for parties of 6 or more.”

Trails & Treats @ Brasada Ranch

  • Each Saturday this winter – “We’re not sure what the treat is, the homemade Brasada s’mores and hot chocolate or the horseback ride to Spirit Rock. No matter your preference, join Brasada Trails every Saturday from 1pm – 3pm this winter for trail rides to Spirit Rock where you’ll roast s’mores over the open fire pit and sip hot cocoa while enjoying the breathtaking views as far as the eye can see.”

Bingo Blitz @ Worthy Brewing

  • ONGOING (Saturdays) – “Bingo Blitz is maximizing the FUN in FUNdraising! The Worthy Garden Club, a 501(C)(3); hosts bingo every Saturday morning at Worthy Brewing (shout out to East side). Dustin Riley Events produces the high energy atmosphere that put BINGO on everyone’s bucket list!”

Crater Lake Tour

  • ONGOING (Saturdays) – “Experience Oregon’s only National Park with a professional naturalist guide. Departing Bend, Oregon, we’ll make our way up the south flank of old Mt. Mazama to the rim encircling one of the world’s most stunning bodies of water! With snowshoes strapped to our feet, we’ll course our way along the volcanic rim for incredible views down to Crater Lake. Fantastic memories are created when taking in the depth of the lake’s blue, white snow, evergreen trees, and the blue sky while the guide unfurls the area’s geology, hydrology, and human history. Wanderlust Tours will provide a tasty deli-lunch prior to heading back to Bend.”

A Starry Night At The Observatory

  • ONGOING – Come to the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver at night and view a guided constellation tour with experts.
