Welcome to Central Oregon! If your thoughts turn to “rain” at the mere mention of Oregon, then you’ve only heard part of the story. Central Oregon is a high desert region that receives on average 8-22″ of rain per year – depending on where you are. It’s often claimed that the area receives 300 days of sunshine each year, though more accurately the number is around 158 with an additional 100 or so days that are mostly sunny. It’s still enough to be a significant draw for both residents and visitors.

Beyond the weather, the region has a lot to offer. A pristine volcanic environment with numerous parks, forests, lakes, rivers, and mountains to explore and enjoy means that there are ample opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation. While many of the cities and towns have experienced growth over the past thirty years, they still retain a small-town feel in terms of size and scale.

And yet, their amenities rival those of some larger cities. A robust library system, top-notch healthcare, numerous art galleries, outstanding restaurants, and an ever-growing number of micro-breweries are just a few of the perks you will find here. On top of that, the people are friendly and engaging.
